  • Support the music education of young musicians in Summit County through annual scholarship awards:

    • Annually award Middle School Music Lesson Scholarships, and

    • Annually award the Carlton F. Thornbury Scholarships to graduating seniors intending to continue musical studies in college.

Middle School Music Lesson Scholarship

Scholarship money is awarded to promising Summit County middle school students to help pay for musical lessons.

Annual Alpenglow Musical Workshops and Master Classes

Hearing great performances has an enduring influence on young musicians. That’s why, each year during the festival, Alpenglow musicians conduct an interactive workshop or master class for Summit students. Our musicians perform excerpts of pieces performed during the festival and offer insight regarding the selection of composers and instruments. These workshops and master classes have always been enthusiastically received.

We help wherever we see a need.

Alpenglow enjoys a close relationship with the music department at Summit High School and we are always happy to help out when the need arises.
